Business Description
Acute Investment Advisory, LLC (AIA) provides advisory services to clients, with fees for these services being separate from commissions earned by individuals like Mr. Roberts and Mr. Deaton when placing clients in insurance products. Clients are not obligated to use Mr. Roberts or Mr. Deaton for insurance and can choose their own insurance brokerage firm and agent. Both Mr. Roberts and Mr. Deaton spend approximately 50% of their time as insurance agents and the other 50% as Managing Members and investment adviser representatives of AIA. Schwab offers services that benefit both the clients and AIA, such as facilitating trade execution, providing market data, and assisting with back-office functions. Schwab also offers services that primarily benefit AIA, including educational conferences, consulting on technology, business, legal, and compliance needs, access to employee benefits providers, marketing support, and recruiting consulting. AIA also uses portfolio allocation models developed with Brookstone Capital Management, LLC, which presents a conflict of interest as AIA has an incentive to recommend Brookstone due to additional services received, though clients are not required to use recommended sub-advisers.
Investment Strategy
The investment advice and strategies provided by AIA will vary depending on each client’s specific financial situation and goals. AIA recommends all types of securities and does not necessarily recommend one particular type of security over another since each client has different needs and different tolerance for risk. Asset allocation models are developed in accordance with investment programs developed by sub advisers and/or other third-party model providers. Clients should refer to the relevant sub advisers' and/or third-party model provider’s brochures for more information about the methods of analysis and investment strategies used by those firms. AIA relies on all information provided by the client without independent verification and requests prompt notification of any material changes. Due to the volatile nature of financial markets, AIA does not guarantee any future performance or the success of any recommendations or strategies. Investment recommendations are subject to various market, currency, economic, political, and business risks, and investment decisions will not always be profitable.
