Investment Strategy
Brookfield's investment strategies are tailored to the specific objectives and strategies outlined in each Brookfield Account's Governing Documents. Their operations-oriented approach leverages their global business groups in real estate, infrastructure, renewable power, private equity, and timberlands/agrilands to evaluate and optimize investments. This approach emphasizes operational expertise and is a key differentiator in their ability to generate superior risk-adjusted returns. Brookfield takes a case-by-case approach to investment decisions, considering factors such as the nature of the investment focus, objectives, strategies, and target rates of return; the investment opportunity and its geographic appropriateness; available capital; diversification principles; expected future capacity; and cash and liquidity needs. While diversification is a goal for many accounts, there is no guarantee of the degree of diversification achieved, and the asset mix may differ from a purely diversification-focused approach. This concentration of investments in specific regions, sectors, or stages of development can increase susceptibility to fluctuations in value due to adverse economic or business conditions.
