Business Description
The advisory business manages assets of Accounts on a fully discretionary basis and tailors its investment advice to the particular needs, investment objectives, and investment guidelines of each Account. As of February 28, 2025, the Advisor managed approximately 2,637,455,000 on a discretionary basis.
The Advisor produces its own fundamental research for use in managing the Accounts. It is the policy of the Advisor to know and understand the identities of its clients and prospective clients and the business reasons for any transactions in which the Advisor engages on behalf of its clients.
Investment Strategy
The Adviser employs a disciplined, consistent, and risk-management-centered investment philosophy. They consider quantitative, qualitative, and relative valuation factors, along with the time horizon and portfolio positioning before executing a transaction. The sell discipline includes factors like excessive valuation, better investment opportunities, lack of confidence in the original thesis, changes in the company's fundamentals, and opportunities to further the Fund's strategy. The Adviser actively trades with high portfolio turnover to achieve the Fund's investment objective.
The Advisor favors sectors and industries they view as undervalued on a relative basis, potentially overweighting sectors like real estate over financial sectors based on market conditions. To reduce volatility, they may add preferred equity securities. They also consider macroeconomic factors when constructing and maintaining the portfolio, aiming for diversification and achieving the Fund's objectives. Investment ideas are identified through sector-specific valuation or catalyst screens, followed by analyst review, portfolio manager review, due diligence, and a final review before an investment is made. For Small Cap companies, the Adviser uses a multi-factor proprietary approach considering a company's value relative to its industry, sector, and other Small Cap companies.
