Business Description
Light Street Capital Management, LLC ("Light Street") is a Delaware limited liability company formed in 2010. Glen T. Kacher is the Chief Investment Officer, founder, and controlling owner, with ownership held through family trusts where he serves as trustee. Light Street acts as the general partner and/or investment adviser to private investment funds ("Funds"). These Funds include hedge funds, long-only funds, venture funds, and closed-end funds, investing in publicly traded equity and equity-related securities, private technology companies, and single investments fitting the mandates of the other fund types. Light Street manages assets on a discretionary basis.
Investment Strategy
Light Street's primary investment goal is to identify companies with superior management, products, and strategies in rapidly innovating industries. They use proprietary research to find these companies and seek investments that create attractive, risk-adjusted long-term returns for their Funds. Light Street also invests in companies undergoing significant corporate events such as spin-offs, recapitalizations, litigation, and strategic realignments. Additionally, they invest in securities they believe are underpriced relative to their expected merger and acquisition value, anticipating appreciation if circumstances change or an anticipated event occurs. Light Street's investment strategies are general and not exhaustive, with limits on the types of securities, positions, investment concentration, and leverage they may use, as defined in the Funds’ governing documents. They may use any trading or investment techniques, whether or not contemplated by their strategies, and may pursue any objectives or use any techniques they consider appropriate based on market conditions and the economy. These strategies apply to Hedge, Sub-advised, and Long-Only Funds.
