Business Description
The firm provides various consultative services to clients, including insurance companies and other institutions, on areas like asset and liability matching, cash flow analysis, asset impairment timing, and implications of restructurings. They also offer investment risk analysis and custom research services. Clients retain all decision-making responsibility. The firm also provides information on how they voted securities in their respective accounts, as well as their Global Proxy Policy and Procedures, upon request.
Additionally, the firm provides investment advice to a limited group of clients on a non-discretionary basis, including securities analysis, asset allocation advice, portfolio risk analysis, and specific investment recommendations. They also provide services to SMA Programs for a management fee paid by the Sponsor, accounting for Underlying Investor-imposed investment restrictions. They managed client assets on a non-discretionary basis totaling approximately US$70.9 billion, as of 31 December 2024.
Investment Strategy
The firm manages a broad range of equity investment approaches, including growth, core, value, and style-neutral approaches. These approaches focus on specific capitalization ranges, from micro-cap to mega-cap, or across all capitalization levels. They also manage approaches that are global, multinational, or focused on particular geographic regions or specific countries. Investment strategies can be diversified across industry sectors or concentrated on specific industries like health care, technology, or finance. Some approaches take long and short positions or invest in private issuers and may be based on fundamental research or quantitative tools and techniques.
Each portfolio manager or team makes investment decisions based on an independent evaluation of available investment opportunities in light of the client’s investment objectives and guidelines. The firm does not have a Chief Investment Officer or a group that gives "top-down" direction with respect to investment positions or strategies. Individual portfolio managers make different investment decisions for different clients based on objective criteria, such as industry, sector, or capitalization levels, or subjective professional judgment about the suitability of a security for an individual account or for a set of accounts.
