Business Description
Nightview Capital, a limited liability company formed in April 2016 and principally owned by Arne Alsin, provides investment advisory and management services. Operating as a discretionary investment adviser, it offers these services to a private pooled investment vehicle organized as a domestic limited partnership, and also to a registered investment company.
The advisory services Nightview Capital provides to a Private Fund are governed by the applicable Private Fund documents and the Advisory Agreement. Generally, a Private Fund invests in a concentrated portfolio of equities (including short sales) and options that Nightview Capital determines to be undervalued. This brochure is not considered an offering document for any Private Fund, and investors should refer to the respective Private Fund offering memorandum or organizational documents for a complete description of its strategies, risks, conflicts of interest, fees, and expenses.
Investment Strategy
The ETF Fund Strategy aims for long-term capital appreciation by investing in a portfolio of publicly traded equity investments, with a goal of outperforming the S&P 500 Total Return Index over a rolling five-year period. This actively managed strategy invests at least 80% of its net assets in securities tied to U.S. issuers, and up to 20% in securities economically tied to foreign developed markets that trade on U.S. exchanges. The portfolio typically holds 15-25 securities, is characterized as non-diversified, and is normally fully invested, holding no more than 5% of assets in cash.
The Private Fund Long/Short Equity Growth Strategy seeks a positive, above-average absolute return across various market environments. It invests in a concentrated portfolio primarily composed of long and short equity investments and strategic options positions, without market cap restrictions. Long positions target investments with sustainable growth, while short positions target those with inferior growth prospects or vulnerability to specific events or momentum. The strategy uses short equity and put options to minimize market volatility, provide downside protection, and generate additional returns. It does not have a long or short bias mandate, and its gross and net exposures are variable. Leverage is employed through shorting equities, with cash proceeds potentially used for other investments.
