Charter One Financial Inc. (CF)

Charter One Financial, Inc. is a financial holding company that owns all of the outstanding capital stock of Charter One Bank, N.A. (the Bank). The Company's principal line of business is consumer banking, which is primarily conducted through the Bank and its subsidiaries. Consumer banking services offered by the Bank include retail banking, mortgage banking and other related financial services. The Bank also provides a range of deposit products, consumer loans, business lending and commercial real estate loans. The Bank serves certain major markets in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, New York, Vermont and in some markets of Massachusetts, Indiana, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. As of December 31, 2003, the Bank and its subsidiaries were doing business through 592 branches, 33 loan production offices and 969 automated teller machines.
